Cancer
Survivor
Four separate cancer
diagnoses that found him battling both Hodgkin's disease and acute
lymphocytic leukemia; 54 months of treatments including radiation,
chemotherapy, and a stem cell transplant; and a resulting heart transplant
at UCLA on October 10, 2006, have set Kyle's life course. However, the
beacon that guides him is the hope and promise of an eventual cure. This is
the covenant to continue the fight that all cancer survivors keep with the
fallen. And the unqualified joy that each new day brings to those who live
on.
In Kyle's many years as a cancer and heart patient he has stared down death
and watched countless others do the same. He has experienced some of life's
worst miseries, witnessed many of its greatest triumphs, and seen the
magnificent strength and compassion that define the human spirit. And that
is why Kyle considers the original diagnosis in 1989 that begin this
odyssey both the worst, and best, thing to ever happen in his life.

Motivational
Speaker
It is, then, with a
spirit of fulfillment that Kyle tackles his complementary roles of writer
and motivational speaker. Using the lessons learned during his own
life-and-death struggle, and drawing on the wisdom attained by watching
others gracefully deal with the unimaginable, Kyle brings a unique
life-affirming perspective to audiences of all types.
As a cancer survivor Kyle counts himself
among the fortunate. As someone who has discovered the almost miraculous
joy of being able to focus on life's meaningful moments, and who now has
the honor of sharing that ability with others, Kyle considers himself truly
blessed.
